Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant – Pediatrics (Full Time & Part Time)

Mid-Level Provider – Pediatric provider will fill the growing needs of Unity Health and work with other providers (Pediatrics and Family) to coordinate patient care.
Minimum Qualifications:
- License to practice as a Physician Assistant or Advance Practice Nurse with prescriptive authority in the state of South Carolina.
- Masters degree (or equivalent) and Board Certification specialty
- 3 years of experience
- Bilingual- English/Spanish is preferred
- Proficiency in Computer Skills and Electronic Health Records
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides medical services, but only as delegated by the supervising Medical Officer.
- Prescribe medications and make recommendations for other forms of treatment.
- Maintains medical expertise and competency as well as demonstrates thorough knowledge of procedures to deliver quality primary medical care. Provides medical sessions, as scheduled, in direct patient care at Unity.
- Examines, diagnoses, treats and/or refers patients for appropriate specialty care services.
- Reviews all labs and x-ray reports for patients under his/her care on a timely basis and makes medical management decisions appropriately. Follows appropriate standards of care for each patient.
- Maintains a problem oriented health record for each patient seen in accordance with Unity’s established information management policies and procedures.
- Perform, order, and interpret diagnostic studies and medical protocols.
- Provide education and support to patients and receive and address patients questions and problems.
- Collaborates with Executive Director, Medical Director, Pediatrician, Family Practice, Clinical Quality Manager, Medical Assistants and Front Desk Staff and other team members to assess the needs of patient.
